Sakura rubbed at her eyes as she noticed a bright light in her room. She looked over to her clock and noticed that it was eight in the morning... and that it was Saturday. That meant that there was no school today.
She smiled at that. She was glad that she would not have to immediately deal with all the drama that had happened the other day.
Swinging her legs off the bed, Sakura got up and went into the bathroom to get ready for the day. She came out a few minutes later with a tank top on and a short skirt that she wore over a pair of pants.
Sakura raced downstairs and grabbed an apple before she left her home and locked the door behind her. She briefly wondered where to go before she thought of the island and grinned. To the island she thought with a grin before setting off.
Roxas sat in the sand and stared up at the sky. He was glad it was Saturday. Now he had an excuse to get away from the happenings of yesterday and that despicable Riku.
Sakura brought the boat to a full stop before she jumped out of it and walked to the beach. She reveled in the serenity that she always felt on the island.
Hearing the slightest of noise, Sakura looked toward the otherside of the beach and smothered a gasp when she saw Roxas. She bit her lip and wondered what to do. Should she run? No... she wasn't a coward. She... would go over to see him.
Roxas closed his eyes and sighed. The beach sure was nice. It definitely was a good place to go to clear his head.
Taking a deep breath, Sakura walked with silent footsteps over to him. She sat down beside him and looked at the fish swimming in the ocean.
Roxas opened his eyes as he heard the crunch ofthe sand next to him. He masked his surprise as he greeted her. "Hey Sakura."
"Roxas," Sakura greeted back her tone neutral. "It's another sunny day here huh?"
"Yeah. It would suck if we were stuck inside because of the rain, huh?" Roxas smiled at her.
"Of course!" Sakura agreed. "Can you imagine how bored I'd be? I'd be all alone and sooooo bored!"
She laid down on the sand and stared up at the sky. She sighed suddenly and closed her eyes.
"You could always invite Riku over..." he muttered angrily. "I bet he'd be really happy if you did that..."
She frowned and opened her eyes to look at him. "Roxas... why are you angry?" she asked.
Wasn't she the one who was supposed to be mad at him for supposedly liking Kira?
"I'm not mad at you..." 'Riku's just a right bastard whose taking my girlfriend from me. He started all this drama.' He shook his head. "It's nothing, Sakura. What do you want to do today?"
Sakura smiled slightly glad that he wasn't mad at her. She looked at him as she half got up and grinned. "I don't know about you Roxas, but I am going swimming," she told him.
She grinned at him as she stood up and took off her outer clothes to reveal a two piece swimsuit. "Such a nice day like this, of course there has to be swimming involved ne?"
"Of course." He laughed and stripped off his shirt. He had been wearing his suit as he always did when it was a good day on the beach. He climbed onto a rock and dove into the ocean, dousing Sakura in water.
"ROXAS!" Sakura yelled and shook her head water falling out of her hair in splattering drops. She leaped into the ocean and found a level spot before she aimed a powerful kick into the water that sent a wave towards Roxas.
She grinned as it left him spluttering from the salt water. "How do you like me now Roxy?" she jested with a wild grin.
"Quite a lot actually." Roxas smirked as he tackled her underwater. he returned to the surface laughing.
Sakura came up spluttering as Roxas had and playfully shoved water at him. She looked down and saw fish swimming around. "Ah... I'm going to see if I can catch one!"
She dove down into the water and twisted around to see if Roxas would follow her. Hm, if he did, perhaps they could play a game of tag...
Roxas shook his head before diving underwater. 'There's no way she's going to catch one with her bare hands.' he thought. 'They're too fast...’
A grin alit on her face as she saw him come after her. She waved to him and blew a kiss before she swam away with all the speed she possessed. Which, on water or land, was pretty fast, especially if she started to dodge things... or people.
'Catch me if you can,' Sakura thought with a chuckle.
'Here we go again...' Roxas went to the surface for air before diving after her again. They had played this game many times and they didn't even need to discuss it anymore. Just start running... or swimming, in this case.
Sakura went to the surface for the briefest of seconds before she dashed down again. She didn't bother to look back, but instead kept on swimming.
Roxas always caught her in the end, but the chase was always the fun part.
Roxas swam faster than sakura, so he knew he would catch her eventually. He swam below her, wondering if she'd detect him immiediately or not.
She looked back curious to see how close he was and went to a stop when she saw that he wasn't there. Her eyes widened and she looked around in the water. He could be anywhere... but where?
Her heart pounded furiously as she felt the anticipation of being caught. Wait... was that the sound of someone moving in water?
Sakura looked down... but it was too late.
Roxas swam upwards as fast as he could hen he saw his chance. His trick had worked. For a moment he felt liek a shark attacking it's prey, but that moment passed when he saw her face as she realized he was wrapping his arms around her waist and dragging her to the surface.
"I win! As usual." he declared as they broke the surface of the water and he led Sakura back over to the beach.
"That was fun though," Sakura said grinning. She rested her head on his shoulder and a small smile appeared on her face. "I love the game of tag..."
"So do I..." Roxas put his arm around her and smiled.
"Now isn't that cute?" Kira chuckled, grinning at ehr friends. Riku was following her up the rock to Roxas and Sakura.
Sakura blinked and lifted her head from Roxas' shoulder to see Kira and Riku. "Oh, hi Kira, Riku," she greeted with a warm smile.
Roxas looked up and smiled as well. He looked at Kira and he felt a twinge of guilt for what he had said to her yesterday. He'd apologize to her for that... later.
"It's a nice day out. We all usually go to the beach on nice days and we figured we'd find you two here. And apparently you've already gone swimming." Kira pointed to their wet hair. Seeing Roxas with his arm around Sakura definitely didn't make her feel her best. Especially after what he said to her. Just seeing him cut her like a knife. She silently vowed that she wasn't going to cry. 'He loves her and I can't change that. I have to get over him.' she thought, swallowing the lump in her throat and looking towrads the ground.
Sakura looked at Roxas and smiled before she got up. His arm dropped to his side and she smiled apologetically at him. She looked back at Riku and Kira and smiled, although it seemed slightly strained. "I'm going for another swim, it's much too nice to be spending on the beach," she said before she ran and jumped into the water.
Roxas watched her go and felt a sort of pain. She was avoiding the situation as usual. She didn't want to deal with what had happened. He shook his head and looked at Kira. He should apologize to her since he had the opportunity to now.
"Hey Kira, can we talk?" he asked.
Kira's head jolted up and she had to fight not to show her own pain. 'He's probably just going to tell me off again.' "Sure, we can talk.." she found herself saying. She could be such a masochist sometimes.
Meanwhile, Riku, not wanting to be a bother to the two or on his own, went to join Sakura in the water.
Roxas nodded and frowned as he tried to find a way to say what he wanted to say. "Kira, I'm sorry about what I said to you yesterday... I know that an apology isn't enough though..." He sighed and put his hand through his hair. "I was just stressed out yesterday because Riku was accusing me of liking you..."
Sakura floated on the surface of the water far enough away from the beach that she couldn't hear their conversation if they were having one. There had been too much tension there... and she really wanted to avoid the situation that she had left the other day.
Could she really avoid it forever though? She doubted it, but that didn't mean she wouldn't try.
Kira just nodded, somewhat numb. She hadn't realized it, but she had been hoping for something else. She hadn't expected an apology.
Riku snuck up behind Sakura and dunked her under the water. When she resurfaced, he was laughing. "hey Sakura-chan."
"Kira, I... I've been thinking, but I don't know if I want to go that far," Roxas said not how to phrase the slight feeling he had for her. He knew that if he allowed it, his feelings for her would grow. "But I love Sakura..."
Sakura shook her head shaking the water out of her hair. "Riku!" she yelled before she punched the water causing it to spray into his face. "Ha."
"Ow you, got it into my eyes!" Riku yelled, before splashing her back.
Kira shook her head, trying not to let her hopes rise again. "Wait Roxy, what are you saying?"
Sakura stopped and ducked into the water. She swam over to the island and got up using the ladder. She climbed up the tree and hung upside down. She saw Riku follow her and a wry smile alit on her lips. "You know... everything is different when it's upside down," she said. Quietly without really thinking of what she was saying she said, "Like how I know I like you even though I'm normally not sure..."
Roxas looked toward the sky and sighed. "I don't know anymore Kira. I just don't know," he said with a defeated air before he laid back onto the sand and let the glare of the sun remind him of why he first decided he loved Sakura.
She had defended him from Seifer and his gang. It was unusual since no one else had stuck up for him. Roxas had to wonder, did he love Sakura? Or, did he love her as his most dear and trusted friend? Was there a difference at all? He was so confused.
Riku raised his eyebrows and smirked up at her. "Do you really like me? Maybe I should climb up there upside-down too and see what happends..."
Kira tilted her head, still unsure of what Roxas was thinking. He seemed to be battling with himself, so she sighed and flopped onto the sand next to him. "Damnit... I got sand in my eye." she complained, rubbing them which was only making it worse.
Sakura suddenly looked at him with a smirk. "Maybe you should, though I can't say all this blood rushing to my head will do any good to my relationship with Roxas..." she said. For some reason, maybe it was all the blood, but she felt devioius mischievous...
Roxas sat up slightly and looked at Kira. "Here wait," he said and leaned over her slightly to look at her in the face. "Open your eyes widely now," he asked before he blew gently into her eye to get the sand out. He sat back down a mild blush on his face. "There, it's gone."
Kira blinked a few times and wiped the water from her eyes. "Thanks..." she smiled at him. "Roxy, are you blushing?"
"Alright then." Riku shrugged and in a moment he was hanging upside down next to Sakura. He was very agile sometimes.
Roxas looked away and happened to spot Sakura and Riku hanging upside down in the tree. His heart clenched before he suddenly let go and sighed. She was obviously happier with him... maybe maybe it wasn't meant to be for the both of them? He looked at Kira and smiled. "And if I am?" he asked.
"That was quick," Sakura said grinning. She spotted a paopu fruit and grinned. She grabbed it and contemplated whether to eat it now or later.
Riku raised his eyebrows again. "Hot sexy bastards are fast. And What are you doing with that?" he motioned to the fruit.
Kira grinned in return. The awkward level had definitely gone down. "If you are, I want to know why."
"I'm contemplating whether to eat it now or later. Oh well, I'll eat it now," Sakura said with a shrug before she lifted it to her lips and took a bite. "Ah, so good..."
Roxas looked at her and smiled once more. "Maybe I was blushing because I'm close to a girl that I think I may like..."
Riku laughed. "You know what they say about pao- AH" From his laughter, he had fallen from the tree and landed on his back in the sand. He looked up at Sakura. "Ow..."
Now it was Kira's turn to blush. "Y-you may like me?" she repeated dumbly, looking up through her hair at him.
Sakura looked down at him with laughter shining in her eyes. "Tell me, because I don't know. What do they say about paopu fruits?"
Roxas nodded. He suddenly sighed and flopped back onto the sand. "The thing is, I don't know if I truly love Sakura or not. Is it love? Or is it just love as a friend? I can't allow myself to truly love anyone else until I figure it out."
Kira nodded and sighed, a frown creasing on her face. "How are you going to figure that out?"
Riku sat up. "They say if 2 people share 1 then their destinies will be entwined forever. Terribly romantic, huh? You should probably share it with Roxas if you're going to share with anyone..." he muttered. He had to be a little fair to Roxas. Besides, Sakura didn't have the best judgement sometimes...
"That does seem terribly romantic, is it one of Selphie's stories again, like the one with the red thread?" Sakura asked. She looked at the paopu fruit suspiciously. "I'm not going to share it with Roxas. Maybe yesterday was for the best... it's been going downhill anyway," she muttered.
"I don't know," Roxas said. "I... I'll talk to Sakura about it. Maybe she'll help me understand. I can see that she's happier with Riku anyway..."
"What makes you say that?" Kira and Riku asked at the same time, not knowing that the other person had said it.
Kira leaned forward. "Hold on, you've got a stray hair in your face..." she didn't realize it, but she was just a few inches from Roxas.
Sakura shrugged. "You'll find out later. For now, I'm going to get my clothes and get back to town. I'm meeting Axel at the arcade."
Roxas didn't move, but suddenly found himself touching the side of her face. "Oh sorry," he muttered hurriedly taking his hand off of her.
"Oh god, what are you going to blow up now?" Riku rolled his eyes.
A blush arose in Kira's cheeks. "That's fine." she murmered, not able to move away from him.
"We're not blowing up anything. We're going to play DDR and I am going to beat his arse back to hell!" Sakura vowed as she jumped down from the bridge onto the sand. She spotted Roxas and her heart twinged. She knew what she had to do... but she would save it for another day. "Hey Roxas! Kira!"
Roxas looked over and smiled slightly. "Hey Sakura."
Kira sat back immiediately. 'Did she see anything?' she wondered. "Hey Sakura."
Riku sighed and followed sAkura over to the other two.
"I'm meeting up with Axel at the arcade, you guys want to come?" she asked smiling at them as she picked up her clothes from where she had discarded them before.
Roxas frowned before he nodded. "Sure."
Kira and Riku both agreed quickly enough and they all walked over to the arcade.
