Sakura stopped moving as she heard the familiar voice. She looked toward the doorway and her eyes grew comically wide. "Squall!"
"I've told you not to call me that," Leon said shaking his head. "Get to your room now."
Sakura twitched but got out from under Kira. "I'm going," she said dejectedly.
Roxas peeked out of the living room and raised an eyebrow. "I thought you weren't coming back until next year Leon."
"Sakura's parent's asked me to drop in early to make sure she's doing alright," he answered closing the door behind him. "Kira, Roxas, hi."
"Hey Leon..." Kira replied, getting up. You're definitely one of the few people she actually listens to." 'But I could have handled it' she thought silently to herself. "Roxy, take some of the blankets to her room, would you? And bring her some ylenol while you're at it." "So Leon, do you want something?" Kira offered, feeling impolite to just stand there without at least offering hospitality.
He shook his head. "I'm just here to make sure that she's doing well. Obviously she's not doing well since she's sick, but that can't be helped. I have some places to go, so if you'll excuse me," Leon said before he nodded and left.
Kira cocked her head to the side. "Bye Leon." she replied as he walked through the front door. "Well that sure was abrupt, but then again it IS Leon..." she murmered, and walked into Sakura's room.
Roxas pulled the blanket up to her chin and walked out of the room. He saw Kira as she walked in and motioned to Sakura. "She's plenty spastic when she's sick, but once she falls asleep, she'll stay that way for a while. Riku will probably be out for a while too," he said. He paused and then continued. "Do you want to talk?
Kira smiled weakly at him. "Thanks. And sure, I'll make us some cocoa." She follwoed him down the hallway and to the kitchen.
"So," Roxas started as he leaned on the counter. "You've probably already figured out that Sakura and I broke up right?"
He played with a pepper shaker as he glanced at her out of the corner of his eye.
"It took me kind've a while, but with that suggestion from Sakura that I kiss you, yes." She stirred the cocoa into the milk. "But it always takes me a long time to realize the obvious, right?" she laughed nervously.
"Yeah," Roxas said agreeing with her. Mumbling he said, "It's cute."
The pepper spilled and he wiped it up before throwing it way. He put the pepper shaker back and continued fiddling around with another piece of kitchen appliance.
"What was that?" Kira asked, sliding a steaming cup of cocoa over to him and perching herself on the counter next to him. "Don't break anything, Sakura would have your head."
"I know, I won't," Roxas said staring at her. He wanted to tell her that he liked her as to confirm to what he told her before, but would it be too soon? He just broke up with Sakura, so it wouldn't be right to suddenly ask Kira out. No, not right at all.
Kira stared down to her cocoa, feeling very awkward. He had just broken up with Sakura, but earlier he said he liked her, and she knew she liked him. Did Sakura even know? Was she trying to pushthem together? Ugh, it was all so complex.
"You never answered my question." Kira sighed, for lack of anything else to talk about. She didn't liek being ignored.
Roxas acted like he didn't remember. Still not looking at her he asked, "What question? Remind me..."
"Never mind..." Kira sighed. She didn't feel like explaining. "So what now?"
Roxas stared at her and shrugged. "I don't know. We're basically going to make sure that Sakura and Riku are fine. Is there something you want to do?"
"Nothing comes to mind..." 'except a dozen things that would be totally bad to do since he broke up with Sakura less than an hour ago.' Kira thought. "I'll probably end up spending the night in order to take care of those two. You should stay too."
"Alright," Roxas said nodding. He crossed over to the other side of the room and gestured to the telephone. "Do you want to call first? Or should I?"
"You can, Roxy." Kira murmered, drinking her cocoa. She smiled at him. She was glad that he was going to stay. she wouldn't be alone taking care of Sakura and Riku and she enjoyed spending time with Roxas.
Roxas nodded once more before he picked up the phone and started dialing. He heard his cousin Sora's voice on the phone and said, "Sora it's me."
"Roxas? What's up?" Sora asked.
"I'm going to be staying at Sakura's. She's sick, and so is Riku," he told him.
"Really? Wow, okay! I'll tell your mom that you're staying then! Bye Roxas, don't do anything bad!"
Roxas stared blankly at the phone before putting it back. His cousin.... could be such an idiot sometimes.
Kira took the phone from him and dialed. "Hey mom. I'm staying over at Sakura's tonight, okay?... She and Riku are sick so me and Roxy are going to take care of them... Okies... Love you too...bye."
"Alright, we're both in the clear. Now what?"
He shrugged. "I dunno. Wanna play a game or something?"
"Sure, let's raid thier closet for something." Kira sighed.
Roxas went into the closet where he knew the games were and frowned when he saw that it was completely empty. "What the?"
In his surprise, he didn't notice the note on the floor.
Kiraa walked up beside him. "What is it?" After glancing at te empty closet, she sighed. "I wonder--hey what's that?" she pointed to the note.
He noticed the note and picked it up. "For whoever opens the closet for games, or if I happen to insanely forget, the game closet has now been moved to the basement. Now, it's not just a game closet, it's a whole room full of games!" Roxas read in a monotone voice. "And then she put that emotican thing with two up arrows and a dash inbetween."
Kira shook her head and laughed. "That's so like her... Then shall we head to the basement?" she motioned to the stairs down the hallway
Roxas nodded and went ahead. He went down and turned on the light... and his eyes widened. "Oh man, when she changed it, she didn't just change it. She upgraded the whole thing!"
He stared in disbelief at the game machines, pinball machines, ddr machine, board games, and so many other things. How the heck did she manage to have all those things in her basement?
Kira followed him down. "Why do we even go to the arcade anymore with her basement like this?" she wondered aloud, meandering through the various games. "What do you want to play?"
Roxas saw a shooting game and tried to press the start button experimentally to see if he was correct in his assumption. "The reason we continue going is because Sakura put a lock on all the electronic games. She's the only one who knows the password."
Kira tried pressign the buttons on some other games as well. "Well, that's lame. But it's not a good idea to wake her when she's sick for a password..." Kira walked over to him. "Anyidea wat the password could be? Or do you want to do something else?"
Roxas shrugged. "Knowing her, it'll probably deal with something inane. Try pocky, and if that doesn't work try something else," he suggested. He typed pocky in himself and found that it didn't work. "What other sort of thing could she put in?"
"Here, let me try something..." Kira wondered, typing in Roxy's name. Then she tried her own, and then Sakura's naem. Finalyy, she attempted Riku. The window closed and the game started. "So it was Riku...:
Roxas twitched but otherwise felt nothing. He was beginning to get used to the fact that Sakura didn't like him. "So, what game is that one?" he asked coming over to her.
"Hehe...DDR..." Kira said somewhat sheepishly. It was a known fact that Sakura and her were obsessed with DDR, but she wasn't sure how much she liekd to admit it. She was actually not very good at the game compared to how often she palyed it.
"DDR?" Roxas repeated. He shrugged and went up to a pad. "Sure I guess. I'm not that good, but okay."
"Neither am I. I have awful coordination." Kira replied, walking up to the other pad. "You can pick the song."
"Alright," Roxas muttered. He looked at the songs and saw one that sounded slow. "Um how about Curus?"
"Sure." Kira said, and began the game. Suddenly the beat became faster. "Ah! Roxy! Why'd you pick something so hard?!" she exclaimed, trying to keep up. Finally, they were nearing an end when Kira placed a foot worng and tripped. "Ah!"
His eyes widened and he twisted rapidly around to catch her. "You okay Kira?" he asked concern deep in his eyes.
Kira was silent for a moment, surprised that he caught her, but even more so from the concerned look he gave her. "Uh, yeah. I think so." she was still being held up by him and she didn't make a move to get up. She enjoyed being in his arms probably a little too much than she should.
Roxas chuckled as she made no move of getting up. "You know, I don't think Sakura would mind if we got together. She's probably likely to ask Riku out once she wakes up or something."
"Roxy, what are you saying?" Kira wondered. She wasn't going to admit that what he said about Sakura getting together with Riku was probably right, in case it brought up old wounds or something. She also couldn't help but have her heart flutter at the fact that she was still in his arms, her face not too far from his.
Roxas rolled his eyes and sat down on the edge of the platform. He adjusted his hold and brought her to sit on his lap. "Kira, what I'm asking is this. Will you go out with me?"
Kira blushed slightly at the position he had placed her, but hugged him. 'I guess it wasn't too soon after breaking up with Sakura after all.' she thought happily before responding. "I think you know the answer, Roxy-kun"
Roxas smiled and patted her on the head."Good, because if you said no I'd have to wonder whether you really liked me or not."
"Of course I like you!" Kira grinned at him and gave hima haste kiss on the lips.
He raised an eyebrow at her and suddenly stood up with her in his arms. "Kira, do you really want to just kiss me like that? How much do you like me anyway?"
Kira blushed at being held bridal-style. "You want me to prove how much I like you by kissing you?" she clarified, staring at him stright in the eyes.
He shrugged slightly. "If you want. I know that you like me, so it's fine," Roxas stated. He wasn't really sure what possessed him to say that before. Maybe it was the fact that he actually really did like Kira, and not like how he had for Sakura, he realized.
Kira smiled at him, a puzzling look in her expression. "You first." she dared, pressing her body a little closer to his, her breath on his neck.
Roxas shook his head. "If I start, we're not going to be moving away from this spot for a while. Let's not make out in the basement of Sakura's house."
Kira slumped in his arms is disappointment. "Way to kill a moment, Roxy-kun. There isn't anything else to do anyway that would be more fun! Sakura and Riku are asleep, and should be for a while. So please?" Kira pouted.
Roxas shrugged. "I don't really mind, but I don't want to be standing nor sitting on the concrete floor."
"That's all your reasoning? Pfft. Either we go upstairs or continue to hold me down here. I'll leave it up to you" 'Although the choice should be obvious.' Kira thought, smirking at Roxas.
He rolled his eyes and began walking towards the stairs. He headed towards the guest room and put Kira down on the bed. "The living room has Riku in there, otherwise I would have gone there. I'm not implying anything," Roxas said as he noted the look on her face at him bringing them into the bedroom.
"Of course not." Kira said, half sarcastically. something dawned on her as he sat down next to her. "By the way, Roxy, we're both going to have to sleep in here. The living room in taken by Riku, Sakura's in her room, and the basement's too cold. I don't want my Roxy getting sick by sleeping on the floor anywhere either. So does that mean we have to share the bed?" she raised her eyebrow at this.
His eyes widened and he shrugged. "We can share the bed, it's big enough anyway."
"That's what I was thinking..." she trailed off before leaning back on the bed, letting her legs drape off the edge.
"Speaking, of bed, I'm sleepy" Kira yawned to emphasize her point. She glanced at the clock. "No wonder. It's almost midnight! Where'd the day go?" she walked over to the window and opened the curtain. "Nya~ a full moon. Isn't it romantic, Roxy-chan?"
Roxas smiled. "Yes it is." He walked over to her and placed an arm around her. "You're sleepy then we should get to bed," he told her leading her towards the bed.
"Mmm... okay Roxy-chan." She yawned again and laid down. She motioned to the spot next to her on the bed. "I don't want my Roxy-chan sick from sleeping on the cold floor." she scolded, before yawning again.
"I won't then," Roxas replied as he lay down next to her. "I'll be right here."
"m'kay." Kira drifted off to sleep within moments, but soon began to say things in her sleep. "What do you... mean Roxy...?"
Roxas stared at Kira and smiled. She was so cute. He brushed her hair out of her face and laid a gentle kiss on her lips.
"mbm..." Kira muttered incomprehensibly in her sleep. "what no Riku!" she furrowed her brow and frowned.
Roxas frowned. What was she dreaming about that Riku's name was mentioned? He continued frowning and brushed her hair back listening.
"Riku, I love Rmmm" Kira mumbled, the frown disappearing. "but he mmm"
He twitched and leaned down close to her ear. "Who do you love Kira?" he whispered.
Kira's mouth spread into a peaceful grin. "Roxas of course. mmm I love yoummm there... mmm soul mates mm" Kira murmered, and turned in her sleep. She was now pressed against Roxas.
He blinked in surprise and smiled. "Good," he muttered before he wrapped an arm around her and closed his eyes.
"I've told you not to call me that," Leon said shaking his head. "Get to your room now."
Sakura twitched but got out from under Kira. "I'm going," she said dejectedly.
