"Mother? Father?" Rin woke to a startling noise. It was simular to a gun shot, making her extra scared. She creeped out of her warm bed and tiptoed to her door. She stopped, leaning against the door fram, holding her door handle tightly. She took several deep breathes before turning the handle and pulling open her door. She jumped as her door slammed her wall, and swung back towards her, hitting her arm, hard. She cringed at the pain, bitting her lip to keep her from crying or making anymore noise.
She looked out behind her door, down the dark hallways into nothingness that lay beyond her room. Right, then left. Nothing. No noise, no movement, no sign of life at all. She stepped out of her room, slowly closing her door as she walked forward. As she heard the latch click shut, she leaned against it, listening. Listening for any life that may live in that darkness. Listening for any enemies that might jump out and attack her at any moment. Listening for her parent's sweet, calming voices to tell her to go back to bed.
But, nothing. Only silence filled that darkness. She sighed and closed her eyes, taking her final deep breath before venturing into the dark abyss.
She walked to the right, towards her parent's room. Every step creeking under her feet, making her slightly jump and her heart skipping a beat or two. But, she continued on. She reatched for the door handle to their room, when she froze at that smell: the smell that could be detrmind from miles away...smoke.
Her head flashed around as she heard feet approching her. She hoped for dear life that that was her Father. Couldn't be Mother for she seemed to float as she walked. As for Father - and most men - he walked with gracful strength, each step loader than the other. She turned the rest of her body around, leaning against the door, shaking like crazy. Tears stained her cheeks and redened her eyes, as blood filled her mouth from bittling her lip too hard. Fear consumed her body and soul. What could she do but wait for the darkness to swallow her as she lay there bleeding, dead.
She closed her eyes, sinking down to the floor, blood now running down her chin and dripping onto her white night gown. The footsteps grew closer, slowing to a steddy pace. She waited for her bloody fate, forcing herself to open her eyes, wanting to see the face of a killer...
But no killer was this face she saw. A savior instead stood before her. He seemed to glow in this darkness that surrounded them, dressed in reds and blacks, his white hair shinning in the night. He held out his hand to her, and she took it smiling, as he whispered "Come with me, Rin, and you shall fear no more..."

I slowly awoke from my slumber. I noticed a tear roll down my cheek and disappear into the mess that was my hair. I quickly wipped all evidence of it and rolled onto my side. I gripped the edge of the quilted blanket that my Mother made me when I was young. That dream was real, at least a long time ago it was. Six years to be exact. I was seven then, too young to understand, but old enough to know. It's amazing I still remember that day. Even after trying so hard to forget it. Those memories are stained within my mind, never to be removed by any cleaners I might try.
I sat up, my legs hanging over the edge of my bed, barly touching the floor beneath. I look at the blank, black walls that protected me. Old memories raced through my head once again, showing me back to where my dream left off.
"Come with me, Rin, and you shall fear no more." His voice sang to her like a choir of angels, telling her that it was okay. She reatched up and grabbed his firm hand, lifting her to her feet. Though, she still was shaking quit a bit, unabling her to walk. The man saw this as she struggled to get her own two feet planted on the ground. The next she knew she was lifted in the air. She turned my head and met his eyes, his glowing hazel eyes. He smiled and she gave him a weak toothy grin, wrapping her arms around his neck for support.
He carried her down the stairs into the darkness. Rin cringed at a strong scent of smoke, and soon, blood. She wasn't ready to see the worst, but before she could close her eyes she saw them. Her parents lying on the wooden floor of the entryway, both had holes in their head and chest. Gun shot. She thought, now knowing that she was correct when she heard the sound that woke her. She felt like throwing up, but there was nothing there to chuck. No food, no water, just the selivia that she swallowed. She begain to make gagging sounds, but the man put a hand to her cheek and made my eyes meet his again. "Breathe. Everyone must past into that darkness we call death. Some earlier than others. Some by age, others by accedents, but most by the selfishness of people who decide that killing is fun. We all shall die. Even you one day, and too for me. You mustn't be afraid of death." Rin took this all in, blankly staring into his eyes. She calmed down, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath, she was ready.
She lifted her head and turned it to see the scene that lay before her. The scent of blood stronger than ever. She watched as a river of her parent's blood met with a river of another. The stranger who killed her parents. His eyes were wide open, showing the fear that consumed his soul. She looked at the knife that stuck out of his chest, blood covered, and obviosly caused by her savior. She smiled at the sight of the killer dead. People may kill, but only those who hurt for fun can truly be called killers.
He continued towards the door, stepping over Rin's dead Mother. He reached for the handle, but stopped when Rin tugged at his shirt. "What is it, child?" His voice still as soft and gentle as before. Rin was looking at the knife from over his shoulder. He saw this and nodded, walking back to the killer. He gripped the hilt of the blade and pulled straight up, blood slightly spirting out towards him. He handed it to Rin who grabbed it with both hands and kept it close to her chest.
Protection... No fear... No more...
He lowered her into the back of his motorcycle. She let go of him until he got on himself and she hugged her arms around him once more. The motor started with a load roar and they were off. She watched as the remains of her house drifted behind her, far into the past. She layed her head on his back, hearing sirens in the distance, indicating that he had called the police. But then why not just leave her there to meet the cops and have them take her.
"Orfanage. If they found you there, they would just put you in an orfanage. I couldn't let that happen to you. I showed up too late to save your parents, and I wasn't going to let all my hard work to save you go to waste. I had to take you in." He answered, like he was reading her mind. Was he?
They soon arrived to a small town. Its true name was unknown by most, but most called it Shadow Valley. Electricity couldn't reach all the way out here, or at least nobody's tried. So, the only light was the sun by day, and the moon by night, and any candle light you can burn. Rin looked around, there were a few people sitting outside their house or shops. They all turned as we drove by slowly, most of them waved, the others just smiled. It seemed as they knew the man well and didn't mind a new guest, seeing as they probably don't get very many new people here.
He stopped in front of an old looking house, (just like all the others). It was a two or three story house, had a large yard that was well kept, full of different types of flowers and plants. Most of them Rin had never even seen or heard of before. She smiled as she followed the man down the rocky path to the door. The door creeked open and the two walked inside. Rin circled around, amazed at the huge house. There wasn't must in it, furniture wise, making it seem even bigger.
He lead her up the stairs and to an empty room. Empty, except a bed. "It's not much, but it will do for a while. We can get some other needs for you later." He looked up at a coo-coo clock and turned back to see that Rin had already jumped into the bed. He smiled, giving a slight chuckle, and walked in beside her. "It's late, so sleep. You will not see me in the morning, possibly not at all tomorrow." He paused. "But the bathroom is to the right, and you can go to anyone in the town for help. There are nice people who live here, and they'll give you something to eat at the dinner across the street." He gave her a huge smiled before walking back towards the door.
"Wait." She said in the tiniest, sweetest voice that only a girl her age could make. The man turned, hand on the door frame. "What is your name?" His smile fadded. "I don't have one. I mean, I was never given one by my parents or family. The people in the town usually call me Angel, for when I first came to this town. But that is a story for another time."
"Tenshi." Rin said to herself, and lyed down to sleep. He smiled and closed the door as he walked out. "Tenshi. Looks like I'm turning Japanese." He laughed and went back down stairs.

Possibly not at all tomorrow...
It's been six years and I haven't seen him again. My room is exactly the same as when I first came here. The only reason I'm not dead from starvation is because of the town's people. The dinner across the street, the owner, Tod, would make the best meals for me, and I wouldn't have to pay one cent. As I grew older, I would feel bad not paying him anything for his work, so I would help around the dinner: sweeping, cleaning dishes, taking orders, I even cooked a couple of times. I liked Tod a lot. Same with all the other town's folk. They were all so nice to me. Down the street, old Grandma Sophee would make me clothes, mainly sweaters from yarn and wool for the colder seasons, while her daughter, Tiffany would sew my everyday clothes.
I raised my arms straight above my head, streatching out my shoulders. I stood and streatched my back a little, then got dressed. I chose blue jeans and a white shirt today. Not really in the mood for "dressing" up. I slipped on a pair of tenes shoes, no socks, just not in the mood, plus the fact that I was still half asleep. I threw my white night gown, which was really just a T-shirt that was too big for me, onto the ground next to my bed and headed out.
I grabbed the brown coat that hung on the coat rack by the front door, and quickly put it on before opening the door and heading out into the cool autum air. The breeze felt nice as it greeted me as I walked out. I watched the leaves dance through the yard as I walked down the path. I tried to keep his garden alive, but it was harder than I thought. But, thankfully, a few people came and helped. Apparently they used to help Tenshi when he was first starting out here.
"First starting out." My mind went back to when I first came here, when he told my that the town called him Angel because of when he first came here. And because I've never seen him again, I never got to hear that story. But, I guess I never will. I wasn't willing to ask someone about him. I was worried and I was sure the other people were too, about him.
That's when I started to wonder. Who was he? What does he do? And why has he been gone for so long? Has he done this before? And why me? Why did he choose to save me? My family? He said he was too late to save my parents, meaning that he was trying to save all of us, but why? Many more of these type of answers played through my head, some many times over again. But I just tried to ignore it and walk on.
I entered the dinner, waving to Tod who stood at the front conter. "What can I do you for today, Rin?" He seemed extra cheery today, but it seemed that he was always extremly cheery. "Nothing much. Just some toast or something." His smiled lessened as he looked worryingly at me. "Are you okay? Do you not feel well?" "I'm fine. Just not that hungry. A lot has been on my mind latly." His smiled reappeared and he gave a chuckle. "I see." He said, seeming like he knew exactly what she was going through. But there was something more to it, a secret he wasn't telling her. She wasn't in the mood to find out, figuring that she would eventusually know. She sat on the spinning bench beside her, waiting for her food. She would swerve to the right, then to the left, just slightly, not enough to make her dizzy. She stopped when Tod came out with a plate of eggs and toast, a glass of orange juice in his other hand. He set both down in front of me and I could help but smile. He would always try to give me more then what I asked for, and I usually ate it all, depending what I first asked for. But I grabbed the fork that was next to me and started eating. I finished the eggs quickly and chugged down the juice. I grabbed the two slices of toast and stood up. "Sorry I can't stay longer, but I have something I need to do. I'll see you later." I quickly returned the wave he gave me and walked out. That was a lie. I didn't have anything I needed to do, I just wanted to be alone for a while. I needed to think some things through. The whole 'who is Tenshi' question still ran in my mind.
I sighed, brushing off crumbes from my shirt. I just walked down the street, waving to the many people who said hello, or just waved to me. But, I continued walking down the street. Right in the middle, not worried about cars or anything. Not many people come here...Scratch that. Nobody came to this town. Only a few people have even heard of this place, and most of them are neighboring towns and the police. I reached the edge of town and starred at the sandy wasteland that surrounded this little town. Desert-like setting, but a lot colder than any desert I've heard of. It would acctually rain most of the days, but the sand would just turn to mud and still not be able to grow much plant life. I stood there, watching the wind blow the sand across the plains. I was in my own world...
HONK!
"What the--!?" I came back to the real world, starring at a large, brown truck right in front of me. I was so startled by the horn that I didn't know what to do, so I just stood there. The driver honked the horn again, this time including yells for me to get out of the way. He said it nicely, but it still seemed rude. This coming from the girl who was blocking the road way. I ran to the side and watched as the truck rolled past, at a slow speed of 5 mph. The man was probably thinking that others would just be randomly in the middle of the street like I was. This thought made me laugh, and I quickly looked up at the side of the truck that had large yellowish letters that read: UPS.
A deliverary truck? Out here? That seems odd. We never get mail here. That was true. We never did. At least not from other towns. If we got any mail it was from other in the town, and we'd just deliver them ourselves. She watched as the truck sped up and drove down the street. She was interested to see who it was for, and what it was. She started to walk in the same direction as the truck, not willing to run.
As they continued down the road, she started to lose sight of the truck and started to walk faster, which soon turned into a run. She stopped and went back to walking as she saw the truck had stopped. She was shocked to see what house it was stopped in front of: her house. "Hey, Rin!" Tod called over to her. She quickly ran to him, still surprised. "I thought nobody knew that you were here." Rin looked at him. "So did I."
By then, the UPS truck had turned around and drove back where it came from. Rin ran across the street, down the stone path, and up to the front door. She just stood there, starring at the small package that lay there. She thought it was a mistake, but as she bent down to grab it, she saw her name written above the address. Her full name, which very few knew. In fact, only Tenshi knew her full name.
She smiled in excitment that she will finally hear from Tenshi after all these years. She sat down on the step and ripped the tape off. She opened it, surprised to see two envelopes, one black and the other white, with a note lying ontop of them. She grabbed the note and started to read it...

"So you like Ghost stories? You like horror films? You like a good scare? You think you are the badass, tough kid? You can handle everything and anything set in front of you? You take everyone up on their dares…
Well here’s a dare you never intended for. A dare you can’t escape. In your hands you hold two envelops along with this letter... a black envelop with the dare…. And the white envelope with the truth. Now open one... Meet your fait...Once you open one you can’t turn back… you can’t escape the fait written in there, and you can’t hid from it..."
I paused. "What the hell is this!? Defenetly not from Tenshi. This is crap. A dare and a truth? Dare I even read on? Of course." She laughed and read the rest silently.
Encrypted in the black envelops had the name ad address of an old castle that’s been haunted by the ghost of a young maiden awaiting her lovers return. However over the several centuries the beautiful young lady has become progressively violent. Killing any other female she finds threatening or more beautiful than herself. She’ll trying everything and anything to get the one she claims to be her long awaited fiancée…
Your task… to stay in the castle for a totally of 3 nights and 2 days. Your reward… that’s a secret if you survive.
Encrypted in the White envelope in the date of your death. As foolish as it sounds, the date has never been wrong. You will die on said day and in the worse possible manor. You will live your worst fears first.
You don’t have much of a chose… but at least with one of them.. you may have a chance of living….
Do …. Or Die… is you’re only option….
What envelop will you chose?
I gripped the paper in one hand, slightly ripping it as I did so. "What a load of crap. The next I'm gonna find is that the black envelope says 'Your mom's room' and the white envelope says 'You will die in seven days'. I mean, why would someone write this crap? Let alone actually send it to someone. And how did they get a hold of my name and where I was?" That part scared me a little. Was there someone who was stalking me? Was some in the town just playing a joke on me? I looked at the box. No return address.
What should I do? Open both to see what lyes inside? No. What if this is real? What would happen if I opened both? What, I would know where a ghost is and at the same time live my worst fears?
I looked down into the box at the two envelopes. I took them out, putting the letter back in the box, one envelope in each hand. I looked at the white one in the left. "If I opened this one and it was real, then I would know when I die. But that's easy to tell when someone's going to die. You just put a date and you kill them then. As for making their worst fears alive, not as easy. Plus, after a while I think I would just kill myself to end my suffuring. So, that would be a total waste." Then, I looked at the black one in my right. "I would get the location of a spirit infested home. That sounds cool to be able to see a ghost. But the fact that she kills woman who are prettier than she is--But I'm only 13. What kind of a threat would I be? I'm not even interested in guys yet. Plus, I feel I could help this spirit. Help her find or forget her long lost fiancée."
I liked this idea. That settled it. Tomorrow, or a soon as possible, I was going to leave for--I opened the envelope and read what was inside. "England."

"England, uh?"
I jumped, falling to the next step. I looked up to see Tod standing in front of me. "Gees, Tod. Don't scare me like that."
He just smiled and sat down next to me. "So, who's it from? And why ya goin' to England?"
I explained everything to him, about the two envelopes and what secrets were inside.
"I have no clue who it could be from. The only person I could think of was Tenshi."
"Who?"
"I mean Angel." Once Tenshi left, she'd never mentioned his name much to other people. So, many of them were confused when I called him by the name I gave him.
"Oh, because he's the only one who knows your full name."
"That isn't in the town. I mean, you know my name, and same with most in the town. But unless someone here told someone from another town to do this--I just don't know."
Tod grabbed the paper that had the address on it, studying it. "Well, who ever it is, they're not lying. I've heard many stories about this castle, about this maiden you told me about."
I looked up at him, interested. "Really? From whom?"
"The Psychic, Shadee. She's only a little older than yourself. Maybe you should pay her a visit. She might be able to help you, and possiblly even go with you." Tod handed the paper back to me and stood up. "Well, I better be heading back. Lunch rush will be startin' soon." He waved me goodbye as he walked back towards his shop.
I thought about what he said. That sounds like a good idea, but should I tell another person about this? I don't even think I was suppost to tell Tod. Oh, well. What's done is done, and it won't hurt to at least hear what this Psychic has to say. I smiled and stood, the box in my hands, deciding that I would go later today. And with that, I walked back inside.

It was already very dark out, even though it was only 5. It would always get dark here early, no city lights to change that, either. I walked down to the street, heavier jacket on and box in hand.
I went out to meet Shadee. I had no clue where I was going, not hearing about her before. But I just wondered, figuring I would find some kind of clue sometime soon. As I walked down the street, looking from the left to right and right to left, searching, I fell backwards, startled at a sudden black blob dashing infront of me.
I quickly got up and ran after it. Across the street, down the ally, to the left and stop. There stood an old looking building, (older than the ones that made up the town). I looked like something that would be in a swamp, not in the back of an old flower shop. The whole house was raised off the ground, and I notice the small water fall that fell from the floor of the house, creating a river towards the sandy abyss.
I walked towards it, seeing the black blob sitting on the deck. As I got closer and was finally on the first step, I could see that the black blob was actually a black cat. "So, a cat is my sign."
"Amazing how they know exactly what you want, isn't it?"
I jumped back down to the ground, looking up at the girl who said it. She looked to be older than me, but not by much. 17 at the most. She was wearing an outfit, like those school girls in Japan are always wearing. She must have been crazy to even think of wearing that in this kind of cold.
As I was thinking about how crazy she was for what she was wearing, she just stared at me. After a while of awkward silence, I realized was happening and smiled.
"Um--Hi. I'm Rin. I'm looking for Shadee, the Psychic. Is that you?" I felt stupid asking this. Of couse she was Shadee. Who else whould live in that house?
The girl place her hands on her hips and leaned to the right. "I've never liked the word 'Psychic'. Spirimentelist is more like it."
I gave a small chuckle. She just raised an eye brow. "What? You don't like the fact that I make up my own words?"
"No. It's not that. It's just my parents would be always correcting my grammer and word usage. I was never allowed to make up my own words." I stepped up onto the first step again, watching the girl take a step back.
"And I am indeed, Shadee. You are here to ask me of the package you got today, no?"
I was surprised. "Nice guess."
Shadee laughed, walking to the door. "Please, come in." I was confused about why she was laughing, but I followed her, stopping to let the black cat go in first.
"So, how did you know why I was here?" I finally asked, wanting to know her secrets, (and if she was the real thing).
"Let's just say I'm not stupid." She sat down in a small wooden chair next to a round table. "First, I saw the truck and where it stopped. Second, I see the box in your hands."
I looked down at the box in my arms. I had completly forgotten about it, and I felt embaressed. But I just sat in the other chair, opposite of Shadee's, placing the box on the table in front of me.
"So." She started, crossing her arms and leaning on the table. "What is so amazing about this package that you had to come to me?"
I laughed. "And I thought you could read minds." She gave a slight smile, but said nothing. So, I just told her what happened. I gave her the two letters and the unopened envelope.
"Well, this does seem real. I know this castle and know of its ghost. Though, this maiden is new to me." She started mumbling words that I couldn't quit make out. But of what I could hear it sounded like she was thinking about coming with me.
She then, suddenly, stood up. "I've made my decision. I will come with you to Enland. I will get the story of this maiden--"
"And help her." I added. The main point I was going. Shadee looked at me, then smiled and nodded.
"We will leave tommorrow." She started talking about what she would pack, looking throuugh the cluter that was the room. "Um--One problem." I said, loudly enough so that she could hear me.
She turned around and stared at me, waiting for me to continue. "I don't have the money for a ticket. I don't have any money, in fact. I just work for my food and make my own clothes."
Shadee sighed, showing that she didn't really have that kind of money either. She sighed and closed her eyes, rocking her head from side to side. Soon, she started to hum a soft tune. I looked around the whole room, expecting something to suddenly appear. Then I looked down at the table where the box was, seeing that the black cat had jumpped up there and was sticking its nose into the black envelope.
I grabbed it away from it, not wanting it to rip the envelope. That's when I felt a bulge. There was something more in the envelope. I tipped it over and shook it. Another letter fell out. It was folded into thirds and I noticed something hidding in it. I opened it up and saw two plane tickets stapled to the bottom, both for a flight to Kent, England. I stared at them for a second then started reading the letter:
"Dear Rin, hope that these help you on your mission to the castle. I figured you would be needing help with this, from more than just me, so I gave you another ticket. I'm sure Shadee will be a great help--If she doesn't abandon you in the castle to go look for the Maiden by herself.
Anyway, I hope you're doing well and can't wait to see you after all these years. Well, I have to go now, but you'll be hearing from me once you're in England.
Love for you from your Guardian Angel."
I paused, reading the letter again, this time to myself. Shadee was staring down at me when I place the paper down. "What?"
"What, what?"
I sighed, then laughed. "So, you knew about this and was just trying to cover everything up?"
I looked up to her and she looked back with a more confused face. "What!? I know that you summoned spirits or did something to make this letter appear in the envelope. Don't try to hide it from me. You probably wrote this, just trying to get me all worked up about nothing." As I spoke, my voice got louder 'til it became a slight yelling tone.
"No. I was just thinking. I do that when I think. I can't summon spirits or anything. I communicate with them when they want to communicat with me. That's all. Well, besides the spells and stuff."
"Then how?" I was now really confused about everything.
Shadee smiled and sat back down, petting the black cat that was still sitting on the table. "Binx is smart. He can sense these kind of things. Has a gift for it. Can sense spiritial or unusual presences."
I looked at the cat that she called Binx. I noticed that he had one green eye and one greyish-white eye. Seemed to be blind in one eye, but that might be the eye he can see these things with.
I looked back to the letter. "Well, then it seems that whoever sent this to me is a spirit, or a stalker. That's the only way to know that you were going to be coming with me." I ripped off the two tickets and held them up to let Shadee see them.
Shadee thought things through and smiled. "Or a Psychic."
"What?"
"I'm not a true Psychic. I can't see the future or read peoples palms, or anything like that. I just communicate with the unrestful spirits, trying to help them onto the other side. But as you said, the two options are possible, but who ever this is is probably a Psychic. Or has close connections to one." She looked to a small clock hanging on the wall near the door. "Anyway, it's getting late." She looked back to me. "You'll need to get plenty of rest for tomorrow."
I nodded and stood. "I thank you for all you've done, and for coming with me. And I will meet you here tomorrow at--let's say 7ish?"
"Fine with me." She waved to me as I walked through the door.
I stopped and sighed, leaning against the closed door. I thought about the letter and who it was from. "Tomorrow, my Tenshi." I said softly before heading home.

"Rin--Come here, my darling--" Rin sat up in her bed, wakened by a ghostly voice. She lit a candle and got out of bed. "Hello?" No answer. She looked at her door, seeing a faint light coming through. It wasn't the light of a candle's flame, but more of a glowing. She walked towards the door, slowly.
"Rin--Come to me--" Sang the voice agian. It was a woman's voice. One that she heard long ago. Her eyes lit up as she realized who it was.
"Mother!" She ran to the door, throwing it open. The room went black as the flame blew out. Darkness. "Mother?" She called again, hoping to hear or see her.
"Rin--"
She saw a glow ahead, down stairs. She dropped the candle and walked down each step, holding tightly to the railling to ensure that she wouldn't fall.
As she reached the bottom the woman called agian, "Come, my darling--My little girl--" Rin looked around, serching for the glow that was there before. Then, as she was about to head back up stairs, a piano's tune started to fill the house.
Rin stopped and turned to the door that lead to the parlor, where the only piano lay. She smiled, knowing that it had to be her mother. She was always playing the piano when Rin was young. "Mother." Rin started for the door, each step seeming harder to make than the last. Something was pulling her back, away from the room.
She struggled to go forward. "No!" She cried and the force let go, sending her forward to the floor. She tightened her hands into fists, fighting away the pain that was inside of her.
"Rin--Come her--I'll make it all better--" She looked up at the door that was in front of her, and she forgot all about her pain and what had just happened. She grasped the handle, pulling herself up and turned it slowly. As she opened it, the piano grew louder.
Rin walked forward into the room, the door shuting itself behind her. She quickly looked back at it, but then looked at the piano.
"Come her, my darling. Nothing will harm you--" A woman called, turning her head towards Rin. She was in all white. Her white hair blowing in the invisable wind. All that could be seen was her and the piano, which she was playing a gentle tune on. She turned around on the bench and held out a hand, the piano still playing the tune. "I will protect you--"
Rin walked towards her, as if in a trance. She reached out and grabbed the woman's hand.
She looked down at her hand, seeing it slowly turn red. She quickly pulled it away, and realized that it was blood, but not her own. She looked up and screamed. The woman was covered in blood, and wasn't in the form of her mother, but of another woman: the Maiden.
Rin ran to the door and tried to open it, but it wouldn't budge. She looked back as the Maiden walked towards, leaving a blood trail behind. "Rin--Come to me--I will protect you--" The Maiden said.
Rin continued to pull the door handle, trying to open it. But it was too late, the Maiden had reached her. Rin screamed, but then, suddenly was calmed, for the Maiden wasn't killing her, but hugging her. Rin looked down at the floor as the blood was now rose peddles.
"Nothing's gonna harm you--Not while I'm around--" She whispered.
"Who are you?" Rin asked, closing her eyes.
"Some who's always been with you, even when you were taken away from me."
"What?" Rin turned around in her grasp and looked up at the Maiden's face. She reconized it. "Mother?"
Suddenly, there was a strong gust of wind and Rin fell to the ground..."Ow!" I opened my eyes to see that I was lying on the floor of my room. I looked up at the open window and figured that I had fallen asleep sitting in my window sill. I sighed and stood up. My clothes were soaked from the rain that was falling down. I closed my window and pulled off my clothes, throwing them into a pile by my bed. I quickly glance at the clock and sighed at the time. It was only 5 in the morning, two hours before I had to meet Shadee. Not wanting to get dressed just yet, I pulled a large shirt over my head. Then headed down stairs to grab a bit of food. I just grabbed an apple, figuring I could get more at six when Tod opened up. I walked back to the entryway and headed for the stairs, but stopped. I looked at the door to the parlor. Would she really be there? It was just a dream, after all. I thought about it a little longer before deciding to at least check it out. I turned the handle and slowly opened the door, waiting for piano music to start. But it never did. So, I just opened it all the way and walked inside. There was no evidence of anyone being in here. This was actually the first time I was in here. I walked over to the piano and sat on the dusty bench. I moved my fingers over the keys, hearing the music playing in my head. But it was interupted by a knock at the door. I grumbled to myself, but answered it. "Yes?" I asked the man that was standing there. "Package for--" He checked his clipboard for the name. "Rin Tsugumi." Another one? What else did I need? "That's me." I signed the paper and the man went back to his truck, leaving a large package on the step. I walked to it and brought it inside. It was definatly larger than the first one with the envelopes. I ripped the tape off the top and opened up the flaps. There inside was an outfit, along with another one of those notes from my 'Guardian Angel'. I took out the letter, reading what this one had to say to me. Dear Rin, I figured you'd be leaving early for your flight, so I made sure this got to you as soon as possible-which should be around 5 or 6.
Anyway, inside is an outfit. It is rightfully yours. Your mother made it for you, planning on giving it to you for your 13th birthday. Sorry I didn't get it to you then.
I hope you will wear it to England-you'll fit in better with the crowd if you do, jeans and a sweat shirt isn't really the style there. I also hope it will fit, your mother was usually good at guessing what you would look like when you were older, but you never know.
I can't wait to see you. I can't write any more, but I will tell you everything when we meet again.
With love, your Guardian AngelI thought about my mother, then about the woman in my dream. " 'Even when they took you away from me.' The Maiden--Is she my real mother? Was it a trick that 'Guardian Angel' was playing on me? Shadee did say that the person was probably a Psychic. He could have been messing with my mind, making my see what he wanted me to. Making me hear what he wanted me to." I sighed and looked down at the box. I set the letter on a small table that was against the wall and pulled out each artical of clothing. The first was a long-sleeved, red shirt with a white cross-like pattern on the chest. Then it was a black mini skirt, would probably reach mid-thigh. Then it was a pair of over-the-knee black stockings, and a pair of black shoes. I slightly jumped as the letter floated down in front of me. I picked it up and saw that there was a drawing on the back. It was a drawing of me, or very simular to me, in the clothing that I had just unpacked. Her hair was also tied up with two black ribbons on each side of her head, with most of her hair still free. I looked at this drawing, then back at the clothes. "Who ever drew this did a really good job at knowing what I look like--" I froze, filpping the paper over and rereading the letter. " 'Your mother was usually good at guessing what you would look like when you were older'...Was she a Psychic? Was this man my real father? Was he a Psychic?" I let go of the paper, letting it drop to the ground. I was so confused, but I just dumpped everything back in the box, grabbed it and walked back up to my room. ************************ I looked at myself in the mirror that was in the bathroom. I had put on the clothes and even put up my hair as it showed in the drawing. I liked it and it all fit well. I walked back into my room and looked at the clock. "Six-thirty! nuts! I haven't even eaten or packed!" I hurried to get everything that I would need. I didn't bother packing any of my clothes, hoping to maybe get some clothes in England. As Guardian Angel said, I wouldn't fit in with my clothes. I then wondered what Shadee would wear, but I just ignored that thought, needing to finish packing. When I was done, I grabbed the bag and ran out of my house and across the street to Tod's Dinner. "Woh! What's the hurry?" Tod said, almost dropping a plate when I ran through the doors. "Sorry, Tod. I have to be at Shadee's by seven, so we don't miss our flight." "You're leaving today? I would've made you something special if I knew that. But, oh well." He went into the kitchen and started to hum a tune. I couldn't see what he was doing, but I knew that he was cooking something. He came back out carrying a plate that had a burrito on it. "Here ya go. You don't have any time to stay here an' eat it. So--" He set the plate down on a nearby table and hugged me. "Don't get yourself killed by the jealose Maiden." We both laughed and I sqeezed him back. "Thanks. For everything. I'll try to write to you, if I can figure out how to do such a thing." I hugged him again, then grabbed my bag and the burrito. "Later, my friend." He waved as I left the Dinner and walked down the street. If there is a later...

A girl with tied back brown hair walked out of the terminal and stopped near a window. She looked back to where she had came from and tilted her head to the side slightly. "Michiru, are you coming?" she asked her voice carrying no tone.
"Yes! I'm coming!" Michiru shouted as she ran over to her twin sister. She smiled brightly and her smile didn't fade even as her sister didn't smile back. "So, this is England huh?"
"It is," Mizuki answered. She looked around the airport and saw a coffee stand. "White chocolate mocha..."
Michiru's smile grew wider as she heard what her sister mumbled. Her love for chocolate and caffeine was cute, and made her seem less gruff, but she wasn't going to tell her that! "Let's go get some! I'd like a drink myself."
Green eyes similar to Michiru's glanced at her and a ghost of a smile appeared. "Thank you for coming, Michiru," Mizuki said softly.
Michiru smiled softly and replied, "You're my world. There's just us in this family, so of course I'd come with you. I'm not willing to allow some widow to take you away from me."
Taking her sister's hand, Mizuki smiled as well and nodded. There was just them, and no one else. No one else mattered...

I rushed to the hut, stopping and smiling, seeing Shadee waiting for me. "You're late." "What? By two seconds?" "Two seconds late." We both laughed and Shadee grabbed her bags and went over to me. Binx was following close behind her, making me smile. "Let's go, then." We went to a neighbor's. She was willing to give us a ride to the airport, since nither of us had a car or could drive. After hours of car games, talking, and bordom, we arrived at the airport. "Thank you so much for the ride." We waved to her as she drove off. I ran in, excited. I'd never been in an air port before. We quickly checked in for our flight and headed for the plane. Something else I had never done... ********************* And something I will never do again. "Air planes are pure evil." I cried, holding my stomach. "You just aren't used to it. I was like that the first time I rode in one." We arrived in England the next day. I had to learn the time difference, which is hard for me, but I got it. We booked a room in an hotel about a block from where the mansion was. I jumped onto the bed. "I can't wait for tomorrow! I want to see that castle!" "Well, actually, it's a mansion." Shadee said, unpacking her things and setting them in the drawers and tables. I looked up at her and smiled as she pulled out a dress. "And now you will look english!" She turned to me and smiled. "It was my sister's. She lived here for many years, but moved back to America. She gave me her old dress that she wore all the time when she was here. So, I figured I should fullfill it's purpose!" She looked at the outfit I was wearing. "And it looks like you fit in as well." "Yeah. My mother made it for me when I was younger. I got it yesterday morning, from that Guardian guy. I have a feeling that he's my real father. In his letter it said that the woman who died long ago wasn't my mother." I sighed and we didn't say anything else for the rest of the night.

"So, we're going to go to that mansion tomorrow?" Michiru asked as she looked over to her sister.
"Yeah," Mizuki replied. She looked out of the window of the hotel they had rented and watched the growing dark clouds. "It's going to rain."
"Ominous," Michiru mumbled. She tilted her head to the side and said, "Sort of like that maiden lady is welcoming us huh? Do you think anyone else got the letter?"
"If they did, they're probably either here now or at the mansion," Mizuki didn't finish what she was going to say as somehow it felt wrong to denounce a person dead without knowing the actual outcome.
"Do you think we can help this maiden out?" Michiru asked. She didn't want to talk about the fact that they could die there too. Still, if it happened, it happened. No reason to worry...
"Maybe," Mizuki said as she continued staring out the window. "Maybe..."

I watched the mansion from the window. Shadee was already asleep. "Tomorrow." And I closed my eyes and fell asleep there. ********************* "You alive?" I opened my eyes to see Shadee already up and dressed in the English dress she showed me earlier. I sat up and stretched. "What time is it?" "Almost 6. Figured we should get an early start. Most spirits don't wake until night fall." "Good idea." I yawned. I changed into my red and black outfit and sat on the bed. "Think anyone else will be there?" Shadee looked at me and sighed. "Hard to say. If this man is your father, why would he want other people to come?" I looked to the floor, thinking back to the dream I had about the Maiden. We packed our things and headed down to the lobby where we would check out.

"Mizuki! Let's go!" Michiru said pushing her sister by her shoulders.
"I'm going Michiru, no need to push."
Michiru grinned and stopped. "It's fun though, you allow me to push you, so it's sort of like a ride that's out of control."
Mizuki didn't say anything for a moment before she replied, "If you weren't my twin, I wouldn't understand you."
"I know, neat though huh?" Michiru asked.
They made their way to the lobby and saw two other people who appeared to be checking out. Mizuki watched her sister as she did what she normally did... talk to strangers in order to get information out of them.
"Hey! Do you two know England very well? There's this address that my sister and I are trying to get to," Michiru said with a bright smile at the two of them. She hoped that her accent with english wasn't that big, she had been practicing a lot to make sure that her accent was neutral after all!

I turned and looked at the two. Obviosly twins. "Not too well." I turned to Shadee who knew more about this place than I did. She smiled and nodded. "Yay. I should be able to find where you two are heading."
She grabbed the piece of paper that had the address of the place they were going. Shadee read it and froze, her smile disappered.
"Shadee? Are you okay?"
She slowly rose her head to the three of us. "We're going there too."
Rin looked at the two girls. "Did you get a package with two envelopes in it? One black, one white?" She figured they did. Why would anyone go there for any other reason?

Michiru grinned as she heard what the younger girl said. "Oh yes, but I didn't get it. My sister did," she said. She looked over her shoulder to see her sister come up.
"Do you know why we were sent that package?" Mizuki asked her voice curt. She didn't know them, and she wasn't as open as her sister who befriended total strangers.
Michiru noticed that there were people starting to come down, and she did some quick thinking. "Assuming that we don't want others to know about the subject we're on the edge of discussing, I believe that we should go to one of our rooms and talk there. Does this sound good?" she asked looking at them curiously.
Mizuki admired her sister for her quick thinking. Though Mizuki was the type for secrecy, sometimes her excitement (barely noticed that it was) made her forget.
