Osai listened, looking up at her occationally. Many times he was tempted to hug her, to comfort her and himself, but he just crossed his arms and sighed.
"It's kinda weird. Our stories seem so simular." He paused, thinking, looking up to the sky through the tree tops. "Could it be?" He was thinking out loud, but he knew Midori might be thinking the same thing. "It's possible that we infact lived in the same village, though, I would think you would at least remember me and my sister...But, let's say we did. What if that man, um, Brandt, was actually the man that saved my sister and me. it seems possible. He was heading towards the village when he found us, and it might be possible that after he got away from that beast, that he eventually made his way back to the village, and that's when you met him.
"And when we went back to that forest to try and find the village, we couldn't find a trace of it. It's possible that we couldn't find it because it was destroied by the being you mentioned. And the fact that we have simular powers. It makes sense, but--" He stopped, looking to Midori.
He looked away, having an idea. "Do you have a picture of Brendt? I can't totally remember the man who saved us, but a picture would surly trigger my memory, if I knew him, at least." He'd possiblly learned even more about who he was, and if they were from the same village, then there's a possiblilty that Midori knew his parents.

"Oh, cry me a river." Kaiyo said sarcastically, coming out from the bushes where she had been hiding. She had one hand on her hip, ready to reach for the gun at any moment. She glared at Osai. "You're such a traitor! I let you in on my job, I trusted you and give you AND your sister 30% of my earnings. I open up my house to you, and you take that hospitality and throw it back in my face! Do you have ANY manners?"
Although she didn't mention her, she was motioning to Midori the whole time. That was explanation enough as to why she was mad, if he was too dumb to figure it out himself. Now, she turned to her and pulled her lips back in a snarl. Her eyes burned with a green fire with her fury. She noticed the new injuries and that fact gave her a small satisfaction as she turned back to Osai.
"So what do you have to say--" she pulled out the gun and pointed it at him. "--before you die?"

Midori had jumped to her feet when Kaiyo had come out and stiffened as she could feel the animosity the girl felt towards her. She personally could not see the reason for the fox girl being so upset, but perhaps there was another fact that she wasn't knowing. At any rate, she wasn't going to stand there and just be yelled at.
As Midori was going to do just that, Kaiyo pulled out her gun and she froze. Was the girl insane or something? You don't go and kill someone for making you upset!
She glanced at Osai out of the corner of her eyes to see how he was reacting.

Osai was shocked. He hadn't noticed that the sun had even come up until now. He looked up at Kaiyo. He saw just how tense she was. He then looked over to Midori who was would attack Kaiyo if she had the chance. But that gun could go off any moment at any of them.
Osai closed his eyes, sighed and stood, still against the tree. "Damnit, Kai!" he started, his voice getting louder, "It's in my nature to worry 'bout others. I was raised like that." He opened his anger-filled eyes, staring straight at Kaiyo. "I was going to come back. I still respect you, less now than I did before. Maybe I'm not the greatest criminal for I actually care, but that doesn't mean I would betray the person I was working with." He gestured towards Midori, "I gave little info about you and your work. The most I said is that you have a temper, nothing more. She wanted to know that she could trust me, and I gave her that. Maybe I didn't do quit the same for you, and I'm sorry for that. I had a chance to learn 'bout my past and I took it. That's it." He lowered his head, sighing. "I don't know if you'd understand what's it's like to lose all those you cared for, and not being able to remember anything about them--" He trailed off and paused, before his head shot up and his arms swung wide open. "So, you want to shoot me for just being a little bit selfish? Then go right ahead. Shoot me!" His anger was at his highest. He didn't understand what Kaiyo was thinking, but it didn't call for anything like this.

Kaiyo stared at him for a long moment before she lowered her gun to her side. She lowered her gaze to her feet and grinned. Soon she wasn't even able to contain her laughter. She hugged her sides and bent over with the force of her laughter. After a while she composed herself and wiped a tear from her eye. "You do realize," she started, grinning at Osai but her eyes burning brighter than ever, "that even if you didn't tell her anything then, you just did." She chucked as she quoted him. "'Maybe I'm not the greatest criminal for I actually care'" She lifted her arms to the sky dramatically, her gun still held in her right. "And the ironic part is I'm the one who caused it by coming out here and making a big deal!"
Her hand tensed and in an instant she was serious again. "You have a lot to learn, boy. But I'm here to teach you. Not kill you. It's not my style. Too messy." she turned around to glare at Midori. "But there are always exceptions," she purred. "Now, we have certain things to deal with. You being the main one." She smiled and aimed the gun to Midori. "Shall we go up to the house and discuss business over a drink, then? Sorry for the gun. Just a precaution, you know?" She smiled wider, giving her the eerie crazy killer vibe that was exactly what she was going for.

"Yeah, I know," Midori replied although she didn't sound like she agreed at all. In fact, she would have liked nothing better than to shift and escape. Except, there was still more she wanted to know about Osai. Like if he was actually from her village, for one. After all, how many shapeshifter villages were there?
Still, she didn't like being held at gun point, even if it was out of precaution's sake. She wanted to at least shift into another form where she had some protection, but knew that Kaiyo might take that badly and just shoot her.
Plus, she was tired and not sure whether she could maintain another shape, much less shift. For now, she'd go along with the fox girl. If she was going to remember any of Brandt's teachings, it was that one should always pick life over death and morals over life. Midori wasn't going to break any morals by following Kaiyo, so she preferred life.
"So, do I lead so that you can keep pointing that gun at me or what?" she asked staring at Kaiyo with a blank gaze.

"As disconcerning it is for me that you know where my house is, yes. You leading is a good idea." She sighed. If only this girl were as bright normally as when she had a gun pointed at her, they might have gotten along better. Well, she really didn't give the stupid wolf a chance, but could she really help it? She was defensive and cautious and she hadn't been arrested yet. As a thief, they were good traits.
She smiled at Midori condescendingly. "And remember, bullets are faster than claws." Her way of saying 'no funny business' without the lame line.

"I've known where your house is for a good while now," Midori told her with a slight roll of her eyes. "People tend to trust injured animals with that much at least."
She started to walk towards where she knew the house to be and didn't pause when Kaiyo warned her. "Like I didn't know that," she muttered under her breath. She hated being the one under the influence of the gun, but she figured that it was just karma. She had after all, done enough threatening of other's lives. Just... not with a gun.

Osai truly didn't even realize what he had said. He just said what came to his mind. He had calmed down and thought about what he was thinking and feeling. He opened his mouth, ready to reply to Kaiyo, but Midori and she started arguing between eachother. He just stared at the two of them.
"Um--" He tried to interupt, but they came to a conclution and started walking back towards Kaiyo's house. "Uh--" He was suddenly pulled away from the tree by his arm. He looked up to see that it was Kaiyo dragging him with her. He tried to pull away, but her grip tightened and didn't let go.
nuts, he thought as they continued through the forest. Kaiyo's pissed with me--again. If I'm not killed by that beast, then surly, Kaiyo will make sure I am dead one way or another. He let out a heavy sigh, as the three of them came to a clearing, and the house was in sight.
He looked at his feet, seeing his shoes still where he left them, when they entered. His feet were a mess, covered in dirt and blood, and sore as hell. He slipped on his shoes just to keep his feet off of the carpet. He went into the kitchen, grabbing a glass and filling it with water for himself. He wasn't in the mood for alcohol, even if it would possiblly make him feel better. He took a swig and then met the other two in the living room.

Kaiyo sighed heavily as they reached the house. She had a huge headache from the stress this morning had caused her. She eyed her bar but shook her head. Alcohol wouldn't help. And she'd pay for it later. At least the others were in the field by now so she wouldn't have to worry about them until lunch time.
She motioned with the gun limply towards the living room before putting it back into her waistband. She retreated to the bathroom her own self and came back with a first-aid kit. Osai and Midori were scratched up to hell, in her house. She may want to hurt both of them, badly, but she wasn't about to be a bad host.
She shook her head at Osai's shoes. "That's what you get for walking in the woods without shoes." she said smugly, pulling out some antiseptic and bandages for them. She took a sip of Osai's water with some aspirin and gave him a look that practically DARED him to say something about it.
Then she took a seat on the edge of the couch. "So, down to business then?"

Midori had stayed silent for the rest of the walk and had went as directed to the living room. She looked at the furniture in the room before she sat directly down on the ground. She looked over to see Osai come in and then Kaiyo. She glanced at the first aid kit once before ignoring it entirely. She came there to talk, not to help herself to fixing her wounds.
She looked at Kaiyo and stared at her with a neutral gaze. "Sure, so go ahead talk," Midori told her. "I'm not going to hide anything... this time."

Osai just looked at Kaiyo as she took his glass from him. Not a word came from his mouth. He sighed, standing up and walking back to the kitchen. He came back in, two glasses of water in his hands. He set one of them down next to Midori, keeping the other for himself as he sat back in the chair.
He took off his shoes, wrapping his feet with the bandages. "If I had taken them with me, I would have lost them if I had to morph. It was just easier to leave them here. And I thought leaving them here would have indicated that I would be back." He sighed again, leaning back in the chair.
"So, what do you want to talk about first? What are we going to do with Midori knowing, or the fact that there's these beasts targeting Midori and me?"

She simply raised an eyebrow of Midori's ignorance of the first aid kit. Fine, she had done her good hostess bit, it was fine by her if the little wolf decided to ignore it.
Kaiyo thought about the shoes for a second. "You're right, if you had disappeared and your shoes were gone, I would've taken the copter to get you." She took another sip of her stolen water and almost sputtered it all over the living room.
"Beasts? What do you mean?" She asked incredulously. It sounded crazy to her, but then again she was a girl who stole art and covered her identity by turning into a fox. Crazy wasn't really in her vocabulary.

He leaned forward, resting his arms on his legs. "There's a possibility that Midori and I are from the same village, explaining our simular powers. When I was younger, my sister and I were attacked by a beast. It wasn't like any animal known to man. When I went out last night, I was attacked by a simular beast, hence the cuts. Midori tore off a collar that was worn on the beast, probably controlling it." He looked over to Midori, letting her explain more, since it seemed that she had been hunting them, along with that man, Brandt.

Midori took a deep breath as she took up the story. "Before I met you guys, I was traveling with a man by the name of Brandt. The two of us were searching for the one behind the disappearance of my village. There were those beasts though, and we soon learned that they were actually former shapeshifters who were made to shift so many times that they ended up being made of many different type of creatures, and insane ones at that. Given their state of mind, they were controlled by the collars," she explained.
"The reason that the beasts may come after Osai and me is because I'm their target due to the fact that I'm a shapeshifter. I don't know if they had a camera on the beast to tell them about Osai being one too, but they'll be after him because he was near me," Midori finished. She looked at the two of them not sure what else they, or rather Kaiyo wanted to know.
